Maintaining Your Café Coffee Machine
Depending on the machine in question, your maintenance and schedule will vary. The majority of machines will have internal cleaning programs, which should be ran at the end of every day. At longer intervals, the machine should be dismantled to allow for a thorough clean. Espresso machines should have their group heads and steam-wands cleaned and disinfected every single day and back-flushed with detergent weekly.
Regular servicing - just like regular cleaning - prolongs the life of your machine, which means better value for money and no disruption to customer satisfaction. It's also worth noting that you have a legal obligation to have any coffee machine featuring a pressure system inspected and certificated by a specialist every 12-14 months.
